A little out of order but we carved pumpkins this morning.. then we decided it was a good day to skip church and have an "adventure"...
First stop.. carne asada tacos at a little Mexican restaurant down the street.. yum!
We decided to hop in the car and go for a drive along the coast. I remembered this little shake shack I have wanted to try for a why on the way to Laguna Beach so that is where we headed!
The beaches in Laguna Beach are all down these steep staircases. Once you are down in them, they are gorgeous!!
We hiked down into this little cove and found hundreds of big seashells. There was a guy who has found thousands or gold rings and coins. He has done it for over 40 years! It was really interesting! He taught the kids how to find sea glass and we found a lot of it!
This island is called "sea gull island" it is covered in sea gulls!!
On our way home we stopped at The Sugar Shack and the kids had a shake. It was the most beautiful view.. ever!! We sat next to some really cool people who told us that the cottages below are rented out for vacation rentals and so Crystal Cove Cottages has my vote for vacation 2011!! Amazing tide pools, right on the beach, whale watching and sea otters, big porches with bbq's on the sand. Amazing! (and not that expensive either!!!)

Fun Fact. My grandparents had a house on the sand in Laguna Beach for 25 years. Another Fun fact I spent my entire life going there and also visiting the shake shake before Ruby's took it over. Not fun fact: the state took over the houses on the beach in 2007 and it was a very sad day. BUT thankfully my grandparents had another property just up the road from Main Street. SO we try and do fun girls weekends there a few times a year! We'll have to plan one soon! I LOVE LOVE LOVE Laguna!!!
