Playing with his allergy bracelet. (He is allergic to penicillin)
last picture of his booger eye!
This is in the car right after the surgery. You can tell by his eyes that he is still kind of out of it.
Yesterday Kelan had his tear duct surgery. We woke up at 4:30 am to get ready and had to be all the way at Phoenix Children's hospital at 6:00am. Before we left, while Kelan was still sleeping, Ryan gave him a blessing and so we both felt much more comfortable with the whole procedure after that. When we got to the surgery center we checked in and Kelan ran wild, as usual! The nurses kept telling us how smart and cute he was as they watched him playing with some of the toys they had in the pre-surgery room. When they took him from us he kind of wined for a second but then was fine as the nurse carried him away. Talk about a strange feeling. As we walked out Ryan and I both felt so strange leaving him with people we didn't know and us not being able to know what he was experiencing. When we got in the waiting room Ryan went to the bathroom, then i went to the bathroom, came back, sat down and the doctor walked out to tell us that Kelan did great. It was THAT fast! The doctor told us that the surgery went great and Kelan definitely needed it. The tear duct would not have cleared on it's own. After he left we got to go back and see Kelan just as he was waking up. He seemed kind of drowsy but he laid his head on my shoulder and just stared off into space. He was done and we got to leave with just a few instructions. The whole thing was so quick. The rest of the day he basically slept and played. I am so glad I won't have to hold him down to wipe off his poor eye EVER again! He woke up today with no boogers!
